Lilia Destin (she/her) is a rising senior at the University of Southern California (USC) working towards her BA in Art History. She strives to incorporate communal energy into museums, providing opportunities to foster genuine connections with art that reflects the greater communities they serve. Lilia is currently the Mellon Undergraduate Curatorial Fellow in the Costume and Textiles department at LACMA, where she has found a deeper interest in the role of fashion and costume in the history of art. Her curatorial mentor is Clarissa Esguerra.

During her time at LACMA, she aided in the installation of the exhibition Lee Alexander McQueen: Mind, Mythos, Muse, and wrote a post published on LACMA’s blog, Unframed, reflecting and expanding upon the designer’s queer identity and how his designs uplifted women. Lilia is also preparing another post to promote a closing procession and performance event for the exhibition as well as curator’s notes for artworks featured on LACMA’s collections online.
