Eli Romero Colón (he/they/él) is a Mellon Undergraduate Curatorial Fellow and a senior at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. He is majoring in Cultural Anthropology with minors in Spanish and Studio Art. They work as a lead curator for the Museum of Tiny Art (MoTA) and as an assistant in Wheaton College's Walford Galleries. He has also worked as an Art History teaching and research assistant, a bilingual teaching artist, and a graphic designer. Their work has been accepted into campus exhibitions and student-run journals, and he was named the winner of the Anthropology Department's 2021 Fahs Paper Prize. This year Elí has been mentored by Sarah Kelly Oehler, Field-McCormick Chair and Curator for Arts of the Americas, and has researched, written, and presented on arts of Latin America in the collection. In the future, Elí hopes to continue their artistic practice while working in museum research or education.
