Tatyana Neal (she/her) is a rising senior attending Texas Southern University, studying museum studies under the academic mentor guidance of Alvia Wardlaw. Born in Houston Texas and raised in Chicago Illinois ,I was introduced to many narratives that shaped my artistic perspective. As I continue to progress as an artist, my interest in curatorial work as a museum curator intensifies. I am working towards educating myself on the history and I have shadowed museum curators, assistants and participated in many internships that have allowed me to gain valuable experience. I have created visualization projects that have intrigued viewers, with the subject line that addresses feminine pride and bases of equality. Throughout my studies as an art education major, I have enjoyed both my art history research projects and volunteering at the University Museum at Texas Southern University. I have had the opportunity at the University Museum to be involved in many activities from installing exhibitions to collecting information from artist for the development of label text to contacting donors and patrons to keep them informed of the museum’s activities. Recently as a volunteer for the Museum’s virtual fundraiser, the art auction, “Art Is”, I had the responsibility of gathering valuable data and information to be used to develop an online catalogue for the event.
